There is a well-known saying that goes: “Whatever you believe to be true is true.”
We tend to think beliefs are facts.
If you believe you are a failure... your chances of having success are slim.
If you think losing weight means you have to be miserable and hungry... then you will be miserable and hungry while you are trying to lose weight.
If you believe you will feel happy and confident, then you will act happy and confident.
Your beliefs determine your thoughts and your thoughts determine your emotions and they all influence your actions.
You are the person who generates your emotions.
If you think you will fail, you feel scared. If you think you will succeed, you feel confident.
If you feel scared, you will likely act scared more times than not. If you feel confident, you will likely act confident more times than not.
And your repeated actions determine who you are.
You are a scared person. Or you are a confident person. You are a happy person. You are a kind person.
You have the power to choose your thoughts!
This sounds so simple broken down into a few sentences – but we often become so busy with our lives that we forget to pay attention to our thoughts.
Your thoughts and emotions determine every one of your actions and reactions.
I challenge you to think about how you can change your thoughts around a scary or challenging obstacle in a way that will help you reach your end goal.
Have you thought much about how your beliefs, thoughts and emotions influence your actions?
Would love to hear what you think about this concept.
